Sacred Knowing

"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
Over the past weekend’s Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations, I was enamored with beautiful stories of horses transforming lives. Hope, faith, and heartfelt pride were unanimous themes uniting the horse and human bond.
As a relative newcomer (in this lifetime) to the equine industry, if there’s one thing I know, it’s this—when the horses call to you, go to them. Whether it’s to discover something within yourself, to experience the expansive healing horse presence, or simply “to be,” whatever it is, the horses will hold sacred space for you to find it.
Three summers ago, I emailed myself a memo, “start horseback riding.” The intuition came to me like a lightning rod of divine insight.
In hindsight, I wish I had listened to the calling sooner… less than 24 hours later, I broke my leg in an accident and my riding would be delayed. In the weeks recovering from surgery, a wise horse started visiting in dreams. After eight months healing, therapeutic riding would begin a pivotal transformation in my entire way of being and helped open my heart again. Riding would inspire turning a newfound passion into a profession; first pursuing Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) certification, then working and training at PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) in their new Fundamentals of Equine-Assisted Learning program and my present focus has led to specialized training in Animal Communication with Penelope Smith.
It was a joy to reconnect with “The Professor” one of my earliest horse teachers who remains a guiding light. I am deeply grateful for the wisdom of many horse teachers (alive and in Spirit), trainers, and newfound global community of animal lovers working together to raise the vibration of the planet. When you hear the horses call, go to them.
